Making the Move.

Most of you know five months ago I decided I wanted a change. To explore a new city. To dream big. To take a risk & to trust the process. That decision was a move to Nashville. A place that would be new, mysterious and add adventure and variety to my life. Instead of just talking about living an interesting story, I decided to create one. There is nothing quite like getting lost in a new city only to discover parts of you, you never knew existed. To me that's what it's all about. Don't settle with less, push yourself, get to know yourself. You are incredible & part of life is exploring and building a loving relationship with yourself. Be your own best friend. Blow your own mind every once in a while. Whatever that looks like for you, don't be afraid to pursue it.

I've experienced more adventure in the last five months through this journey than I have in the past three years. And the most encouraging realization is that we always have access to this freedom. The world is a big place, we just have to decide to see it. To create it. and to extend grace when things don't quite make sense. I've learned it's okay to be free. It's okay to be lost. And it's okay to change. Mostly we need to quit worrying about what it's going to be, because the truth is... it already is. Now. Here. This is it. Dive in.

Colleen is an incredibly gorgeous, smart, funny, & inspiring soul. Her light is contagious & her #girlboss hustle is out of this world. I find myself extremely fortunate to call her friend. I believe in a world where women support women, lift each other up, and encourage one another along the way. Colleen does all of that and more. She has always inspired me to be true, unique, have fun & slayyy while you do it! You're a gem Colleen!

Rachael & Luke

I am constantly blown away by the incredible people I get to photograph, and this session left me feeling wildly fortunate. Rachael is the sweetest mamma ever & little Luke has a fearless spirit that I think we could all learn something from. I am constantly inspired by the friends I get to photograph, their journeys, and the gift they give simply by embracing life and living in love.

So Much Love. xo

Trinkle Family Fun

What an awesome family! The Trinkles are not only incredibly fun, they are also genuinely so loving towards each other! I'm so grateful to have wonderful clients who allow me to show up to work and leave a bit more inspired!

When Charlee turned 2!

Meet Charlee & her incredibly sweet family!! Charlee's birthday was a successful day full of family & close friends! From running around outside in the rain, to Charlee asking for another round of "Happy Birthday To You," this day was all about the lovely miss Charlee and watching her soak up all the love and attention! It was such a joy to photograph and get to spend time celebrating with this wonderful family! :)

Megan & Bryce Langdon - Wedding Day!

When you find a couple whose love is so sweet, it pours out over everyone they meet... you immediately want to be their best friend! That is this couple! Megan and Bryce have tied the knot & I am beyond honored to be apart of it! Their wedding day was full of love, laughter, family & sweet friends! Their love is hard working, inspiring & true. Thank you both for being an example of one of God's greatest gifts on Earth, love.

Olivia & Jay Ramsey

She wasn't after extravagant. She didn't care if the colors were on point, or if each table cloth aligned perfectly with the next. She only cared about getting married, and that it was going to be to Jay. The skies opened up and showered the Earth with rain and God moved in. With prayer, a preacher, and vows of forever Olivia and Jay became one. The evening was filled with heartfelt toasts, impeccable pie, carefree dancing, and friends and family drawing near to support this new adventure. The evening was lovely, entertaining, and one I will not soon forget. It was an honor to document the Ramsey love story, and I am so thankful to call them friends!

Quinn turns 3!

If I were being honest, I'd have to say I don't remember much about my 3rd birthday party..or my 4th or 5th... I don't remember the themes, the places, or the presents. But I do remember family. Being a part of Quinn's 3rd birthday was such a joy. Watching his super woman mom somehow organize and execute this whole party was incredible. I so admire this family for showing up to celebrate Quinn with such joy and appreciation. Mostly, I applaud the fun free spirit who organized a monster truck adventure that most certainly became one of Quinn's favorite attractions. To remember the monster truck, he will have these photos...everything else.. I know he won't forget.

For me the idea of going back "home" has meant many different things over the past few years. There is no doubt that your 20's are filled with change. With different schools, majors, apartments, jobs and relationships life can get crazy. But no matter how much changes, at the end of the day we all just want a place to call home. As my physical home has changed locations 8 times in the past 5 years, it has been important to create my own version of home. Some people find home in family. Some find it in their career. Some find it in faith, friends, or a loved one. For me home is made up of slices of each along with a healthy relationship with myself. It's easy to get wrapped up in life, love, and careers that we can end up spending too much energy trying to perfect our little homes that we lose our sense of peace. Life will always be changing. And although we can't always control or avoid what happens to us, we can always cling to the peace and love within ourselves and call it home. In times when life gets rocky and skies get dark, it's important to find the peace in our hearts and remember that we can always tap into our true self and if only for a moment, be home.

If there is one thing we learn as we grow older it's that life gets busy. It gets busy quick & has no intention of slowing down. Remember when you were little, you had dreams. Most of them were probably unrealistic like wanting to be a batman or for me it was a deep desire to be a jockey. My dad had to break the news when my height far exceeded a jockey standard around 5th grade. But we grow up and our dreams are altered, molded, and shaped as we are. I got lucky and met my best friend in first grade. I can't count the amount of times we discussed marriage and all the artsy, unique, colorful details that created the vision we each had for our own days. Fast forward and my best friend is getting married in 2 months. Watching ideas and dreams become reality is a beautiful process and so much fun to be a part of. Last weekend Cali's family and mine met in Austin, Tx for some pre wedding shopping, planning, & portraits. Being so close to the wedding it was easy to get caught up in the chaos that is planning a wedding. As Cali was getting makeup and hair done before her bridal portrait session, I realized that this is a moment I didn't want us to overlook. Being able to stop and appreciate the small steps in a much larger journey is important. Life is going to pass us by whether we decide to slow down and appreciate the moments or not. I'm so thankful that even in the small, passing moments, we can find beauty, meaning and the joy of being alive.  Intentionally seek the small things & and thank the people who walk this beautiful journey with you.
